Thanks to everyone for coming out for the race yesterday.  WOW!! What a turnout and incredible vibe!  The wind really turned on for us 20+ mph.  It seems like the whole pack just flew down the course.  I personally had great time seeing everybody and hanging with the folks who camped out last night.  It looks like we raised over $4,000.00 for the Leo Carrillo Junior Lifeguard program which provides for the junior guards to have environmental day at the local chumash village and allows kids who may not be able to afford the program to be junior guards and get amped about the ocean like we all are. So thanks again.  I am going to make a second run of shirts, so anyone who did not get a shirt please email me by the end of the week.  Finally, the results should be up by tonight.

Hello everyone, Scott Hubbell and Michelobe Ultra would like to invite all who participated in the Malibu Downwinder to Hermosa Beach this Monday the 25th with a free entry for the first event of the Michelobe Ultra racing series.  Click on the link below for more information.

2015 Malibu Downwinder information

With a 2:00pm race start time and a Southeasterly course, we are hopeful for a fairly reliable 10-20 knot Northwest wind to assist us in surfing the approximate 7 mile course. The start will be from the water at Mugu State Beach, just on the other side of Mugu Rock. The finish will be at Leo Carillo State Beach at the west end of the North beach parking lot. Awards and a beach BBQ with refreshments will immediately follow the race. A limited number of campsites are available for Friday and Saturday nights at Leo Carrillo State Beach and Sycamore Cove State Beach. Contact Gary Fortune if interested in camping at malibudw@gmail.com

All proceeds for this race will be donated to the Friends of Leo Carrillo Junior Lifeguards and Wishtoyo Foundation to help support the Leo Carillo State Lifeguards and State Junior Guard Program.
